Built by the Community. Accountable to the Community.

Deaf Planet Soul (DPS) is a community-led nonprofit built on volunteer leadership, shared responsibility, and a commitment to serving the Deaf community.

Guided by our board and committee members, we believe public trust must be earned through integrity, responsible decisions, and meaningful action.

How We Operate

DPS is a community-led organization. We bring together volunteers, supporters, and individuals with different experiences to identify needs, exchange knowledge, and connect people with opportunities.

Our work includes educational guidance, practical assistance, community activities, and referrals to qualified professionals and service providers when specialized support is needed.

We recognize the importance of understanding our limitations, respecting professional boundaries, and helping individuals find appropriate resources.

Our Responsibility to the Public

As a nonprofit organization, we recognize that public trust carries serious responsibilities.

Our board and committee are responsible for organizational decisions, financial stewardship, community priorities, and maintaining the integrity of our operations.

Donations, partnerships, and volunteer contributions are intended to advance the organization's charitable purposes and support its activities.

The Value of Community Knowledge

Not every solution begins in an office or classroom. Sometimes it begins with someone sharing experience, explaining a process, identifying a resource, or helping another person understand their options.

DPS recognizes the value of lived experience and community knowledge while respecting the role of licensed professionals.

A Public Trust, Not a Private Interest

Our organization belongs to a purpose greater than any individual.

We believe nonprofit leadership requires clear responsibilities, thoughtful decisions, respect for contributors, and a willingness to answer for our actions.

Our responsibility is not simply to represent a community. It is to serve that community with integrity, sound judgment, and measurable purpose.
