Every great movement begins with a vision, and Deaf Planet Soul (DPS) began with a simple belief: the Deaf community deserves equal opportunities, meaningful connections, and a place where every voice is valued.

Founded in 2015, Deaf Planet Soul, Inc. is a Deaf-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind individuals through education, mentorship, advocacy, community engagement, and access to resources.

Our journey began with a passion for bringing people together, breaking down communication barriers, and creating opportunities for individuals to thrive personally, socially, and professionally.

Over the years, DPS has grown beyond a community initiative into an organization committed to strengthening independence, encouraging entrepreneurship, developing leadership, and connecting individuals with resources that support their goals.

More Than an Organization — A Community

At Deaf Planet Soul, we believe that true empowerment comes from connection, knowledge, and opportunity. We understand the challenges that Deaf individuals may encounter when navigating employment, education, transportation, business ownership, social services, and everyday life. Rather than allowing these barriers to define our community, we work together to identify solutions, share experiences, provide educational guidance, and help individuals find the resources they need. Our programs and initiatives are shaped by lived experiences, volunteer commitment, and the belief that community members can make a meaningful difference by supporting one another.

Creating Opportunities, Building Independence

Through mentorship, workforce development, entrepreneurship education, American Sign Language (ASL) learning opportunities, social engagement, and community resource navigation, DPS strives to create pathways toward greater independence and inclusion.We believe every individual has unique strengths, talents, and dreams worth supporting.Our role is to encourage, educate, advocate, and connect people with opportunities while building a stronger network of community support.
